Preliminary qualifiers for the 31st edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition begins

Al Suwaiq: The first stage of the preliminary qualifiers for the 31st edition of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition for the year 1445 began today at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, and it will last for two days.

The number of contestants included in the qualifiers in this station reached /61/ male and female participants who have memorized the Book of God, distributed among the levels of the competition, which include the first level (memorizing the Holy Qur’an in its entirety), the second level (memorizing twenty-four consecutive parts), and the third level (memorizing eight Ten consecutive parts), and the fourth level (twelve consecutive parts memorization), in which it is required that the contestant be born in 1998 and above, and the fifth level (six consecutive parts memorization), in which it is required that the contestant be born in 2009 or above.

As for the sixth level (memorizing four consecutive parts), it is required that the contestant be born in 2013 or higher, and the seventh level (memorizing two consecutive parts), in which it is required that the contestant be born in 2016 or higher. It should be noted that the number of participants in the competition is (1,638) male and female participants in the various levels of the seven competitions. The competition work committees for the level of preliminary qualifications and the level of final qualifications for contestants of both sexes were distributed in 25 centers in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The competition, which is organized by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science at the Diwan of the Royal Court in the 31st session, aims to encourage the memorization and representation of the Qur’an, to follow its approach and the guidance of its teachings, and to raise a Qur’anic generation that carries the Book of God, a caller to goodness, an actor in reforming society, and creating Glorious reciters of the Qur’an.
