Qualitative leap in infrastructure projects in Duqm: Governor

Duqm: The Wilayat of Duqm is undergoing comprehensive improvement in the areas of public services, infrastructure, entertainment and marketing. The rapid growth in those areas is inspired by ongoing economic and tourism projects, as well as projects that will be implemented in the near future at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD).

Like other fast-growing economic hotspots, the Wilayat of Duqm boasts a full set of government institutions and commercial establishments, said Adil Amer Al Yaf’ee, Deputy Wali of Duqm.

In particular, the establishment of SEZAD added momentum to the growth of the wilayat and generated many gains that also extended to adjoining wilayats in the Governorate of Al Wusta.

Projects already established in the wilayat include the Port of Duqm, a dry dock, a refinery, an airport and other projects scheduled to be implemented in the next few years, said Al Yaf’ee, noting that the wilayat is being prepared to become a major destination for investors, businessmen and tourists from different countries of the world.

He pointed out that the implemented projects achieved a qualitative shift in the state and contributed to stimulating economic activity in various sectors. Which led to providing good opportunities for the growth of local companies and creating job opportunities for the people of the states of the Central Governorate.

For his part, Zayed Juma Al Junaibi, Member of the Municipal Council in the Wilayat of Duqm, said that the wilayat features a comparative advantage and a special investment climate that qualify it to accommodate the largest economic projects of strategic importance, like the Duqm Refinery. He added that existing and upcoming facilities gave a strong motive to upgrade public services and infrastructure in the Wilayat of Duqm and other wilayats in governorate.

He stressed that the existing projects in the Duqm Special Economic Zone contributed well to improving the lives of citizens, providing job opportunities for the people of Al Wusta Governorate, and advancing the sector of entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises.

Hilal bin Subaih Al-Junaibi from the Wilayat of Duqm said that the state has witnessed remarkable development in various fields that serve citizens and residents of the state, including infrastructure, educational and health services. He expected that the Wilayat of Duqm, after the opening of the Duqm Refinery, will become one of the international cities that attracts tourists, businessmen, and those interested in the matter. Economic.

Salam bin Saqat Al Junaibi from the Wilayat of Duqm pointed out that the state has become an economic front thanks to the projects it enjoys after the issuance of the Royal Decree establishing the Special Economic Zone in Duqm, as it now embraces a group of huge projects whose results have had a positive impact on the city and the citizen.

Salem bin Hamad Al-Saadi Al-Junaibi explained that the Wilayat of Duqm in particular and Al-Wusta Governorate in general have enjoyed many developments as a result of existing projects in the Duqm Special Economic Zone, companies were established for entrepreneurs in the governorate, and job opportunities were available.

It is expected that after the opening of the strategic project represented by the Duqm Refinery, commercial activity and service will rebound clearly in the Wilayat of Duqm, and that more industrial projects will be established that will help improve the infrastructure and services, including hospitals, schools and universities.
