

Muscat: Oman Meteorology (MET) has issued a weather alert of Thunderrain, in seven governorates of the Sultanate of Oman on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Oman Meteorology said: “The governorates expected to be affected by the thunderstorms are Muscat, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, Musandam, Al Dakhiliya, South Al Sharqiyah and North Al Sharqiyah Governorates may extend to coastal areas of Oman Sea.
Oman Meteorology added, rainfalls ranging between (10-50) mm downdraft wind (!5-45)KT, Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershower, hail and flash floods (Wadis)
Authorities urged to ensure safety
Immediately move away from low places and wadis, and do not attempt to swim in wadis
Do not risk crossing wadis in order to protect yourself and those with you in the vehicle
Keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach wadis
