Recreational tourism forum launched in South Al Batinah

Rustaq: The activities of the recreational tourism forum in the Al Batinah South Governorate will start tomorrow, Wednesday, under the title “Experience South Al Batinah”. It includes many diverse activities, and is the first of its kind at the governorate level. The opening ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The forum aims to introduce the attractive tourism and economic potentials, as well as the unique natural, historical and heritage attractions of the Al Batinah South Governorate. The activities of the forum include 23 activities in the port of Al-Musannah that vary between cultural, recreational, educational and economic, including the “open theatre”, which includes artistic and entertainment shows, a special corner for the talented, and performances of military music.

The forum includes the activities of the “heritage village” with the participation of a number of those interested in the heritage field from the people of the governorate, by reviewing a number of traditional Bedouin and urban industries and crafts, in addition to traditional Omani arts and a food festival.

During the forum, four introductory and various exhibitions will be held, including: an exhibition for government institutions, an exhibition for space, and an exhibition for classic cars, in addition to an exhibition for home projects for productive families in the state.

A marathon, cycling tour, and the South Al Batinah mountain path will also be held, in addition to cruises, sailing experiences, and sea fishing in the state of Mussanah.

The cultural events at the forum include poetry, literary and historical evenings, and competitive competitions between Omani women’s associations in the governorate, as well as activities for children and others for the Oman Cancer Society, the Scout Camp and the Oman Youth Ship.

The activities of the forum will shed light on Khabat al-Qadan in the Wilayat of Nakhal, which is a tourist and entertainment destination, in addition to various activities in the Rustaq Public Park, including various corners for craft industries, productive families, arts and learning, in addition to musical performances and a children’s theater and the states of Al-Awabi, Nakhl and Wadi Al-Maawal host accompanying events in order to promote many tourist and recreational sites.
