Rehabilitation of Friday Market in Sohar begins

Sohar: The Municipality of North Al Batinah has started a project to rehabilitate the Friday Market in the Wilayat of Sohar, where the capacity of the market will be raised, which will contribute to facilitating the process of displaying local products, and increasing the size of facilities that help reduce overcrowding, in addition to contributing to Facilitating access and continuity of work in the market during rains and valleys.

Eng. Sulaiman bin Hamad al-Sunaidi, Director General of North Al Batinah Municipality, confirmed that the implementation of the market rehabilitation project came to diversify the markets and ensure the continuity of the presence of such markets, which are an economic tributary for the community. (2276) square meters, paving a road with a length of (1,655) meters, and as for the total area of ​​asphalt, it reaches (17,260) square meters, and a channel for rainwater drainage with a length of (1050) meters.

He stressed that the rehabilitation of the market will contribute to revitalizing the commercial and economic movement in the state in particular and the governorate in general, as local commodities are provided to consumers in such traditional markets that many people from the governorate and outside flock to.

The market is located in the center of the Wilayat of Sohar, near the historic Fort of Sohar and the rest of the public markets in the state.
