Risk of community infection maybe greater than work infection

Muscat: The 17th Press Conference of the Supreme Committee on Covid-19, Thursday, 15 October 2020

Dr. Saif Al Abri from the Ministry of Health:

Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at the Ministry of Health:

Over the next two weeks, a mechanism will be announced to exempt people with chronic diseases from going to work, and it will depend on the rate of risk in the workplace and the rate of commitment to preventive measures by the institution and individuals

The risk of community infection may-be greater than work infections

We stated 4 weeks ago that there is a standardized list of chronic diseases, but not everyone with a chronic disease or pregnant woman is at risk of contracting the virus

In order to investigate and provide a vaccine for COVID-19, a committee was formed, headed by H.E the undersecretary for Health Affairs, The Sultanate has signed a number of agreements to obtain it.

The Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunizations is the authority from which to obtain the vaccine, and the challenge is to obtain a good quantity of the vaccine on time.

The priority now is how to obtain a good quantity of the vaccine at the end of this year or the beginning of the next year to cover the most vulnerable groups, which are the first line working group and those with chronic diseases

Our aim is to get at least 20% of the vaccines
