45 Social Housing Units to Be Constructed Under New Cooperation Agreement
Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Dar Al Atta’a Association signed today a cooperation agreement to construct 45 social housing units at a total cost exceeding RO 1.8 million.
The project comes within the framework of the “Together We Build, Together We Achieve Impact” initiative.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the ministry by Eng. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and on behalf of Dar Al Atta’a Association by Maryam Issa Al Zedjali, Founder and Chairperson of the Association’s Board of Directors.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the Oman Real Estate, Design and Build Exhibition and Conference 2026.
Under the agreement, 20 housing units will be constructed in the Wilayat of Al Amerat in Muscat Governorate and distributed equally between the “Hay Al Atta’a No. 2” and “Hay Al Atta’a No. 3” projects.
The agreement also includes the construction of 25 additional housing units across several wilayats in the Sultanate of Oman in cooperation with voluntary charity teams.
Maryam Issa Al Zedjali said that the initiative aims to support family stability and strengthen social cohesion.
She noted that Dar Al Atta’a Association has constructed more than 220 homes through the “Maskani Ma’mani” programme.
She added that the association inaugurated the “Hay Al Atta’a” project in Sana’a Bani Ghafir in the Wilayat of Al Khaburah in June 2025, which included 36 housing units built according to sustainable technical standards, including solar energy systems and water recycling technologies.
Al Zedjali explained that the initiative follows a mechanism for selecting beneficiaries in coordination with charity teams in the wilayats through studying and verifying social cases based on approved criteria.
She affirmed that construction, supervision and financing procedures will be implemented according to specified allocations to achieve the targeted social impact.
