Oman Signs 18 Agricultural Usufruct Contracts Worth OMR 1.9 Million

Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, signed today 18 agricultural usufruct contracts for the implementation of investment projects across several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The contracts aim to support food security and promote sustainable agricultural investment. The total investment value exceeds RO 1.9 million, covering an area of approximately 300 acres distributed across the governorates of Al Buraimi, North A’Sharqiyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.

The projects include a range of agricultural activities that contribute to enhancing local production and strengthening food supply chains, in addition to encouraging optimal utilization of agricultural lands.

This step reflects ongoing coordination between relevant government entities to support the agricultural sector through sustainable investments and to enhance its contribution to the national economy.

Data indicate that more than 585 agricultural usufruct contracts were signed during 2025, highlighting the continued growth of investment in the sector and its role in empowering entrepreneurs and maximizing the value of government lands.

The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Hamad bin Ali Al Nizwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Housing, and Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture, along with several officials.
