Oman’s EA arrests citizens for hunting Arabian gazelles
Muscat: The Environment Authority in Al Dhahirah Governorate was able to arrest citizens who violated wildlife by hunting Arabian gazelles and Arabian ibex. The seized items were confiscated and they were referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.
The Environment Authority calls on everyone not to harm wildlife, as the Penal Code stipulates that anyone who intentionally kills, hunts or smuggles any wild animals or birds shall be subjected with imprisonment for a period of not less than six months and not more than five years, and with a fine of not less than RO 1,000 and not more than RO 5,000, or with one of these two penalties.
