Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) announced an exciting concert featuring a global phenomenon: Fatoumata Diawara, The Star of Africa, who will perform at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts on 9 and 10 February 2023.
Hailed as a visionary musician and voice for unity and hope, Fatoumata Diawara sings in her native Bambara. She dresses with magnificent originality, taking on the traditional elements of her heritage and bringing them to life for her stage performances.
A Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, guitarist, actress and activist, she embraces modernity as well as tradition. Hugely charismatic, Diawara has played major festivals including Glastonbury (UK), worked with the likes of Gorillaz, Herbie Hancock and Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca and formed a super group of Malian artists.
