Role of Royal Academy for Administration outlined by Oman’s Minister of Diwan

Muscat (ONA): His Majesty Sultan Haithm bin Tarik today issued a Royal decree establishing the Royal Academy for Administration (RAA) under the honorary patronage of His Majesty the Sultan.

Sayyid Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Academy for Administration, said that the establishment of the RAA stems from His Majesty’s keenness on developing Human Resources and aligns with the requirements of Oman Vision 2040.

“It is a manifestation of Royal objectives of coaching Omani cadres to perform their role in serving the national economy and managing its resources at the level of public and private sectors. The RAA is envisaged to be an international edifice tasked with developing modern methodologies in line with basics of competitiveness and innovation,” said Sayyid Hilal Al Busaidi.

He added that the RAA functions three broad lines, which are Oman Vision 2040, the future needs of the new Omani economy and the employment of modern learning methods, notably Blended Learning.

Al Busaidi affirmed that the programmes and initiatives that will be launched by the RAA will endorse the 2040 Administrative Capabilities Framework, which defines the skills required for the long-term vision. The RAA will make use of its connections with global institutions, take the latest methodologies and apply them in accordance with the Sultanate of Oman’s needs, he said.

The RAA will introduce applied studies to help develop the most modern intellectual content and enrich the repertory of public sector resources with the prime aim of instilling a culture of productivity and innovation, Sayyid Hilal Al Busaidi explained.

The RAA will design specialized programmes for the development of the skills of employees in goernorates.

The academy will also enable its trainees to access digital educational platforms, electronic libraries and other digital resources.
