Royal Air Force of Oman celebrates graduation of pilots and officers

Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) today celebrated the passing out of pilot officers, cadet officers, limited service officers and university officers who completed training courses to this effect.

The ceremony took place at the military parade grounds of Ghala Airbase and the Sultan Qaboos Air Academy. It was presided over by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.

On this occasion, the RAFO presented a military show that demonstrated the skill of its members and highlighted the great attention accorded to the RAFO by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

Upon the arrival of HH Sayyid Shihab at the celebration ground, the graduating batches gave a military salute welcoming the chief guest, and the RAFO band played the Royal Anthem.

Then, HH Sayyid Shihab inspected the front row of the parade. After that, the passing out batches performed a military infantry march.

Then, HH Sayyid Shihab pinned aviation wings on the graduating pilots and handed over the Sword of Honour to Officer Cadet Ayman Salim Al Sinani, who won first place at the overall level of the cadet officers’ batch, as well as Cadet Officer Hilal Nasser Al Toobi, who topped the “Limited Service” and “University Officers” passing out batches.

The ceremony was attended by several members of the Royal Family, ministers, chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security units, members of the two councils, senior officers in the SAF and other security units, senior government officials, senior retired officers and military attachés to the embassies accredited to the Sultanate of Oman. – ONA
