Izki: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) today celebrated the graduation of several officer batches, including the Candidate Officers Course, the Specialized University Officers Course, the Conversion Course for Medical and Allied Medical Professions, and the Limited Service Officers Course.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Taimur bin Asa’ad Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
The graduates presented a series of military performances showcasing the skills and competencies of RAO personnel and reflecting the great attention and Royal care accorded to the Royal Army of Oman by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
The proceedings began with a military salute to the chief guest, followed by the inspection of the front row of the graduates’ parade. The graduates then performed a military march past the main dais, led by the banner of Sultan Qaboos Military College, before advancing in review formation.
HH Sayyid Taimur bin Asa’ad Al Said then presented the Sword of Honor to Lieutenant Al Muhallab bin Rashid Al Subhi of the Royal Army of Oman, who achieved first place in the Candidate Officers Course.
This was followed by the handover ceremony of the Sultan Qaboos Military College banner, during which the banner bearers of the graduating Candidate Officers Course handed the banner to the bearers of the current course, who pledged to safeguard it and uphold its honor. The National Anthem was then played as the banner was paraded among the ranks.
The ceremony also featured musical performances by the Royal Army of Oman Music Band, showcasing various military pieces and formations demonstrating the band’s high professional standards.
The graduates recited the RAO anthem, took the oath of allegiance, delivered the call of approval, and chanted three cheers for the life of His Majesty the Sultan. The parade then performed the concluding military salute as the Royal Salute music was played, followed by the march past the main dais.
The graduating courses included officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces, personnel from other military and security agencies, and officers from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
