Royal Army of Oman concludes Music Band Competition

Muscat: The Royal Army Oman concluded the 2023 Musical Bands Competition under the auspices of Major General Matar bin Salem Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman.

Major General Staff Commander of the Royal Omani Army listened to a briefing about the competition that was held on the military parade field in Al Murtafa Camp. After that, the participating bands presented various musical performances that witnessed competition in performance and skill and reflected the extent of competence and high capabilities enjoyed by the members of the Royal Omani Army.

The ceremony was accompanied by the presentation of a number of traditional Omani folklore by the Third Musical Band of the Royal Army of Oman.

In conclusion, Major General Staff Commander of the Royal Omani Army, the sponsor of the occasion, distributed awards to the honorees, as the results were as follows: In the military music competition, the second musical group won first place, and the first musical group came in second place, and in the bagpipes and drums competition, the second musical group won The first place was won by the first musical group, and in the baton holders competition, Staff Sergeant Muhammad bin Khamis Al-Amiri won the first place, and Sergeant Mahmoud bin Youssef Al-Sanani won the second place.

The holding of the Orchestra Competition comes to sustain the artistic levels of the Royal Omani Army’s orchestras, and to provide them with the glorious elements to participate in regional and international music competitions.

The occasion was attended by a number of senior officers, officers and individuals of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military entities.
