Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a royal decree appointing Dr. Ali Qassim  Jawad Al Lawati as a Chairman of the Royal Academy of Administration (RAA), with his existing financial grade.

Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati is considered one of the pioneers of development and modernization of the Arab region starting from the Sultanate of Oman, where he worked for almost 30 years formulating strategic directions harmonized and aligned with global thinking, emerging trends and best practices.

Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (USA) and PHD. From Cranfield University (UK) in Technology Management.

Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati worked with several organization in the Oman and abroad, including with the Ministry of Information In Oman and College of Banking and Financial Studies in Muscat. Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati has also working with leading International consultancy firms including Booz Allen Hamilton (USA) and PA Consulting (Uk) on a variety of projects in the region ranging from process improvement to strategy development. Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati has also been affiliated to a number of leading academic institutions including Sultan Qaboos University, Yale School of Management, INSEAD, and Cranfield School of Management as a Research fellow and Visiting Scholar in the areas of formulating pubic sector strategies, improving government’s performance, and the development of leadership skills, He currently sits on a number of advisory boards including the American University in Cairo’s School of Business, and Thinkers 50 a ranking of the World’s Top 50 Global Management thinkers.

Dr. Ali Qassim al-Lawati  is a co-author of “leading smart transformation – A roadmap for a world class government” published by Palgrave Macmillan in March 2011. He has also written a number of Articles including –
