Muscat: A medical team from the Royal Hospital, in cooperation with the Royal Air Force of Oman, transported a citizen who suffered a heart attack in the Kingdom of Thailand, and his condition required the use of a balloon pump inside the aorta on board, in response to the patient’s relatives’ appeal to return him to Muscat.
The difficulty in transportation was represented in the sensitivity of the device and the necessity of transporting it with a helium gas tube, which requires a suitable pressure. The patient was transferred after he could not be separated from the aortic pump device. The medical team consisted of a first paramedic, an adult emergency consultant, and a senior cardiac perfusion technician.
