Royal Management Academy launches ‘Public Policies, Strategic Planning’ programme

Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) today launched a programme titled “Public Policies and Strategic Planning”, which is aimed at preparing national leaders and executives in the field of drafting, implementing and drawing up strategic policies. The programme targets undersecretaries and general managers at units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus.

Dr. Ali Qasim Al Lawati, Chairman of the Royal Academy of Management, said that the programme seeks to contribute to establishing an innovative administrative apparatus that is capable of devising smart future policies.

On his turn, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, said that the programme offers an opportunity to explore the experiences of top executives tasked with strategic planning and drafting general policies of relevance to Oman Vision 2040.

The programme has been initiated in conjunction with international institutions like the Civil Service College, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore and the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.

The programme operates in two parallel tracks. The first is dedicated to undersecretaries and it comprises eight units in the formulation of public and strategic policies. It will run until March 2023.

The second track, which targets general managers, comprises nine units in the formulation of general policies and strategic planning. It will run till May 2023.
