Royal Opera House Muscat to present Opera Le Nozze di Figaro

Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s wonderful opera Le Nozze di Figaro on 16 and 19 February 2023.

The opera will be performed by the Accademia Teatro alla Scala and conducted by Sestro Quatrini.

The opera features incredible young talent, artists from the academy associated with one of the most famous opera companies in the world, Teatro alla Scala.

Le Nozze di Figaro tells the story of Figaro, a servant to the Count who is marrying Susanna, another member of the household. The opera is a comedy, following the twists and turns of a plot which sees the Count trying to woo Susanna himself, the Countess trying to win back the Count, a manservant who would woo anyone, but in this case must don a disguise as a woman to confuse the Count, and a maid who thinks Figaro must repay a debt with marriage. Figaro is by turns tumbled by events and the chief puppet master of the story.

The upcoming classical production, dressed with glorious period costume, will be staged by the acclaimed director Giorgio Strehler with revival director Marina Bianchi.
