Rural Product forum in Al Dhahirah

Ibri: The Directorate General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate, in cooperation with the Oman Development Bank and the Department of Rural Development in the Ministry, organized today the activities of the “Rural Product” Forum, at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry building in the governorate.

The forum aims to shed light on rural activities and products in order to empower and raise the capabilities of rural women and assist them in playing an essential role in society, which would increase family income and improve their economic and living standard, through carrying out productive activities and projects, supplying the local market, and presenting project products in an appropriate and identical manner. to quality specifications.

Engineer Salim bin Ali Al-Omrani, Director General of the Directorate General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al-Dhahirah Governorate, said: “The Rural Product Forum is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Oman Development Bank, and an affirmation of the government’s keenness to find solutions to the challenges facing rural communities, especially financing.” projects, as well as supporting and encouraging a culture of female entrepreneurship in the rural areas of the governorate.

The program of the forum includes a working paper presented by Amira bint Abdullah Al-Masrouri, loan operations specialist at the Oman Development Bank, in which she touched on the support and follow-up provided by the bank in order to promote rural women’s projects and empower the family economically through projects that contribute to raising the income of the individual and the family.

The forum also included an exhibition for productive families, showcasing the various products of rural women, such as bee honey, vegetable products, Omani food and baked goods, in addition to handicrafts, leather and other products.
