SAF Chief of Staff Receives Egyptian Military Official
Muscat: Rear Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), received today at his office in Al Murtafa’a Camp Lt. Gen. Ahmed Fathy Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and his accompanying military delegation, who are currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.
Upon his arrival at the SAF Headquarters, the Egyptian Chief of Staff was accorded an official reception ceremony. The guard of honour performed the military salute, followed by the playing of the honorary salute by the military band, after which the guest inspected the guard of honour.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed a number of military matters of mutual interest.
Within the framework of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering several military fields was signed. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman by Rear Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, and on behalf of the Arab Republic of Egypt by Lt. Gen. Ahmed Fathy Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Saif Hamad Al Yousifi, SAF Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning.
In a separate meeting held today, Maj. Gen. Hamed Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, received Lt. Gen. Ahmed Fathy Khalifa and his accompanying delegation at his office in Bait Al Falaj Camp.
The meeting discussed aspects of academic cooperation and coordination between the two sides. It was attended by Air Commodore Mohammed Aziz Al Siyabi, Head of the Center for Strategic and Defence Studies, and Air Commodore Ali Rashid Al Abri, Director General of Studies and Academic Affairs at the Academy.
As part of his visit, the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces also visited the National Defence College (NDC) at Bait Al Falaj Camp, where he was received by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC.
During the visit, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Fathy Khalifa was briefed on the college’s academic programs and its strategic curriculum, which focuses on preparing senior national leaders. He also toured the various departments and facilities of the college.
