SAF Shooting Championship concludes

Muscat: The 34th Sultan’s Armed Forces Shooting Championship for the year 2024, organized by the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, was concluded today at the Baghla shooting ranges, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al-Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.

Teams representing the Ministry of Defence, the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Navy of Oman, the Royal Guard of Oman, the Royal Oman Police, and the Royal Court Affairs participated in the competition, in addition to the participation of girls’ teams with the weapons of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, the Royal Oman Police, and the Royal Court Affairs. .

The tournament aimed to maintain the proficiency in the use of weapons for officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals, in addition to selecting skilled shooters to support the national military shooting teams that represent the Sultanate of Oman in regional and international competitions and forums.

Dr. Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, sponsor of the occasion, and the attendees listened to a briefing presented by the Director of Military Sports, Head of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, in which he discussed the progress of the tournament activities, and the results achieved by the participants at the individual and team levels in the various competitions.
