Review of Modern Technologies Used in Audit Works. SAI Chairman Visits Japan Board of Audit

Muscat: His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al-Alawi, Chairman of State Audit Institution, met Her Excellency Hiki Fumiko, Commissioner of Japan Board of Audit, on Friday, January 12, 2024, in the presence of specialists from the Institution and from Japan Board of Audit.

The visit of the Institution’s delegation came within the framework of pursuit of common interests, exchange of experiences, and transfer of knowledge. The visit aimed to ensure continuous improvement of professional development programs for the Institution’s employees in order to achieve maximum readiness to implement its responsibilities with high efficiency in accordance with the best international practices.

During the visit, strong relations between both countries were reviewed and best practices for building capabilities and enhancing job competencies were discussed and reviewed. Modern technologies used in implementing audit works as well as aspects of contribution and benefit from specialized regional and international organizations were also discussed. Both Institutions also highlighted their efforts in improving the efficiency of their employees in carrying out their assigned roles through training, qualification and knowledge-transfer in cooperation with peer institutions and international professional institutions.

At the end of the visit, Her Excellency Hiki Fumiko, Commissioner of Japan Board of Audit, expressed her appreciation for the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al-Alawi, and for the great interest he expressed in reviewing Japan’s experience in audit fields, as well as his keenness to strengthen cooperation to serve common interests.

His Excellency Sheikh Ghuson bin Hilal Al-Alawi further stressed the keenness of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by State Audit Institution, to participate with the international community by exchanging experiences through international organizations or strengthening bilateral cooperation with peer institutions, which will enhance the comprehensive and sustainable development process witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.
