Salalah Free Zone celebrates the Oman Industry Day

Salalah: The Salalah Free Zone, affiliated to the Asyad Group, celebrated the Oman Industry Day, which falls on the 9th of February each year, with the participation of a number of companies operating in the region, and the presence of a number of academics, university and college students, investors, and workers in the industrial sector in the Dhofar Governorate.

Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Tabuk, CEO of the Salalah Free Zone, said in a speech he delivered: “This celebration comes from the belief in the industrial sector’s connection with all promising economic sectors, and the great importance that the Omani Industry Day has for all workers in the industrial sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and what this day represents as an annual incentive.” To redouble the effort and work towards the continuous pursuit of attracting investments due to its great impact and economic benefit by achieving added value to all economic sectors and opening a field for local and international investments and new horizons for the future of the Omani industry.

The CEO of the Salalah Free Zone added that, according to statistics, the industrial sector in the Salalah Free Zone occupies an area of ​​4.3 million square meters, and includes 66 factories, some of which have started operation and others in the process of construction procedures from 17 countries operating in many products such as gypsum boards, plastics, methanol, ammonia and brake spare parts. Cars as well as dairy products, medicines, mineral water, soft drinks and more.

The celebration, which was held in the administrative building of the Salalah Free Zone, included a display of a variety of products of companies operating in the free zone, in addition to discussion sessions and lectures on various topics related to investment, trade, industry, and some of the technologies used in production in the companies affiliated with the Free Zone in Salalah.
