Salalah is the perfume capital of Arabia, and it is home to the most valued species of frankincense tree in the world said “euronews” an European television news network
In a report by “Nicole Trelevas”, the network reviewed the various types of Omani frankincense, especially “resin”, noting that in the past it was equivalent to the value of gold, as the resin is burned as incense or oil is distilled for various uses.
The report added: Although it is native to Yemen and Somalia, this higher species is commonly found in the Sultanate of Oman, and played a major role in establishing the region as a thriving trading center in the ancient world.
