Muscat: SalamAir issued a clarification about high taxes and increase in value of tickets to Salalah
In a statement Issues SalamAir said: “With reference to the statement of the CEO of the company on 07/31/2023 regarding the response to the reason for the increase in the value of tickets to Salalah Airport, and the report on the reason for the increase in the value of taxes and fees, etc., for incoming and outgoing flights at that airport, the company notes that the concept of taxes in this statement does not include ‘taxes’ that the tax authority collects, since domestic flights are exempt from value-added tax, and the company enjoys exemption from tax withheld at source.
The reference was to several other components other than the conventional tax concept.
The reference was made to the fees collected for the benefit of ground handling and infrastructure companies, fees paid to Oman Airports Company under the name of Embarkation Tax , landing and navigation fees, aircraft bridge fees, and aircraft steering fees (VDGS). Aircraft parking fees.
We also confirm that the statement of the CEO of the company was true and accurate according to our books, and this is for clarification, correction and adjustment of terminology and to avoid confusion or ambiguity. We are certain of the sincerity of intentions, and we bear witness to the diligent work carried out by the work team of the Civil Aviation Authority, as well as the Oman Airports Company and the ground handling companies.”
