Al Mudhaibi: The Directorate General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate today launched the “Samad Al Shan Exhibition for Agricultural, Animal and Water Innovation 2026” in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi.
The exhibition will continue for two days.
Eng. Yasser bin Said Al Saadi, Director of the Department of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Samad Al Shan, said the exhibition represents a national platform aimed at supporting a sustainable agricultural and water future in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
He explained that the exhibition seeks to support innovation and digital transformation in the agricultural and water sectors to enhance food security and create investment opportunities through cooperation between government institutions and academic entities.
The exhibition is being organised in cooperation with Oman LNG and includes the participation of more than 40 entities from the public and private sectors, academic institutions and student companies.
Participants are showcasing technologies and solutions related to smart agriculture, artificial intelligence irrigation systems, water desalination technologies, drone applications in agricultural monitoring, and value chains linked to dates, dairy products and beekeeping.
The exhibition also highlights the role of the Directorate General of Education in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, represented by the Scientific Exploration Center, in promoting innovation among students.
Student companies from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibra and A’Sharqiyah University are participating with projects related to agricultural engineering and smart irrigation technologies.
The exhibition further includes specialised sections for palm frond craft industries, livestock and veterinary services, hatchery and marine feed technologies, in addition to products presented by rural women entrepreneurs.
