Saudi trade delegation visits North Al Sharqiyah Governorate

Ibra: The branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate will host tomorrow, Sunday, a governmental and commercial delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by the First Deputy of the Board of Directors of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce including 60 people representing a number of Saudi government agencies, chairman of boards of directors, and executive directors of companies.

Hamad bin Ali Al-Hajri, a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, explained that the branch prepared a program for the Saudi delegation that includes meeting with a number of officials from government agencies and private sector institutions to discuss strengthening economic and commercial cooperation relations between the two sides and identifying available investment opportunities.

He said in a statement to the Oman News Agency that the Saudi delegation’s visit includes attending the activities of the First Oman Desert Tourism Forum 2024, which will start next Wednesday in the state of Bidiya in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, through which it seeks to learn about the investment opportunities available in the governorate in various economic fields, especially in the field of desert tourism.

Hamad Al-Hajri pointed out that working papers will be presented at the first Oman Desert Tourism Forum that address investment opportunities in desert tourism, legislation and laws in desert tourism, the reality of desert tourism and its cultural and social dimensions.

Salah bin Salem Al Hajri, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said that the forum will be implemented for the first time at the level of the Sultanate of Oman to focus on investment and economic activity in the desert tourism sector in the governorate in all its specializations and types, including the laws regulating this sector and the investment opportunities available to investors from Inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, the cultural and social dimension of desert tourism and Gulf experiences in this aspect.

He stated that the Oman Desert Tourism Forum will work to highlight the tourism components, the cultural and historical heritage, the diversity of tourism patterns enjoyed by the desert of the Sultanate of Oman, and its importance as a tourist attraction for tourists locally and from various countries of the world. He explained that during the forum, specific initiatives will be announced, in cooperation with other bodies, to prepare for the launch of specialized training courses in the field of tourism media to develop and develop the people of the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate region working in this field.
