Oman Reaffirms Support for Diplomacy Ahead of Iran-US Talks

Geneva: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met in Geneva today with Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting addressed preparations for the second round of indirect Iran-US talks, scheduled to take place tomorrow (Tuesday) in Geneva.

Both sides underscored the importance of fostering understanding and consensus to reach an agreement that fulfills the objectives and aspirations of the parties involved in the talks.

Sayyid Badr reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s consistent approach in supporting dialogue and diplomacy, and its commitment to contributing to efforts aimed at promoting security, peace and stability. He stressed that these efforts seek to spare the region and its peoples the consequences of wars and conflicts.

He also expressed appreciation for the trust placed in Omani mediation, noting that the Sultanate undertakes this responsibility with utmost seriousness and dedication.

The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides.
