Sayyid Fahd receives GCC health ministers

Muscat: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers today received GCC ministers of health participating in the 9th meeting of GCC Health Ministers hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.

After welcoming the ministers, HH Sayyid Fahd expressed Oman’s appreciation for the benign efforts exerted in the health fields to push the march of GCC action forward. He also commended achievements made by the Council of GCC Health Ministers and its role in upgrading health services.

HH Sayyid Fahd also affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman has been according a major attention to health sector as it is considered among pillars of comprehensive development through constant development witnessed by this vital sector and upgrading its health services.

The meeting reviewed most important topics listed on the agenda of the ministerial meeting that covered according attention for enhancing integration of GCC health services, maximizing the benefit from potentials available at specialized centres in the GCC states and supporting training programmes for GCC physicians, as well as seeking to find a GCC electronic platform for physicians in the GCC states.

On their turn, the GCC ministers of health expressed their thanks to the Sultanate of Oman, Chair of the GCC current session, for hosting this meeting. They hailed the constructive role undertaken by Oman to ensure success of the GCC march.

They also lauded the benign efforts in providing healthcare and the achievements made at the level of medical services rendered to all citizens.

The meeting was attended by Jasem Mohammed Al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary General and Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health. – ONA
