Seminar on waste management in Oman’s Yanqul

Yanqul: Be’ah, in cooperation with the office of the Wali of Yanqul, organized today a seminar on waste management and investment in this sector. The symposium included the presentation of four working papers.

The first paper dealt with the types of waste and methods of disposal, presented by Eng. Ahmed bin Rashid Al-Qatbi, in which he reviewed the types of waste, methods of disposal and work to benefit from them.

The second paper was presented by Eng. Nasser bin Muhammad Al-Ma’awali, during which he reviewed the design and operation of engineering landfills and the mechanism of work in these landfills.

The third paper dealt with construction and demolition waste and how to deal with it, it was presented by Munir bin Sulaiman Al-Maamari,

While the fourth paper dealt with investment opportunities in the solid waste sector and the importance of investing in increasing the domestic product, and it was presented by Eng. Mazen bin Khalifa Al-Alawi. The symposium also included a dialogue session and discussions with the presenters of the working papers.

The activities of the symposium were sponsored by Sheikh Hassan bin Muhammad Al Zarafi, Deputy Wali of Yanqul, in the presence of a number of officials in the government and private sectors in the state.
