Muscat: The Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) celebrates opening of the first factory in Sino-Omani Industrial City in Duqm

In a statement Oman news agency said: Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) celebrates the opening of the first factory in the Sino-Omani Industrial City in Duqm, the Hongtong Duqm Piping factory, which is the first project of its kind in the Sultanate that was established with an Omani-Chinese partnership.

The factory specializes in the production of non-metallic pipes made of reinforced Thermopolyethylene, which are mainly used in collection and transfer of hydrocarbon fluids through the piping networks.

The Hongtong Duqm Piping aims to provide advanced and durable Thermopolyethylene pipes system for applications in oil and gas industry, water and gas distribution network civil engineering, sewer water treatment companies, special construction and special infrastructure business.

Built over an area of 60,000 sq meters, the factor is designed to be capable of producing around, 1,200 km of Reinforced Thermopolyethylene pipes (RTP) annually.
