Shell Celebrates 100 Years of Partnership with Oman

Amsterdam:  Shell celebrated the centenary of its relations with the Sultanate of Oman on the sidelines of the Sixth Shell Alumni Network Conference, held at Kasteel Oud-Vassen in Vaassen. The event was attended by a number of leaders, experts, and specialists in the energy sector.

Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of the Netherlands delivered a speech on this occasion titled: “The Sultanate of Oman and Shell: Friendship, Change, and Trust.” In his address, he highlighted the key features of “Oman Vision 2040”, the progress achieved in economic diversification, the transition toward renewable energy, and green hydrogen, in addition to the growing regional and international standing of the Sultanate of Oman.

During the event, speakers reflected on the historic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Shell, as well as the role the company has played over the past decades in supporting and developing Oman’s energy sector. They affirmed the importance of this enduring partnership in keeping pace with the future transformations currently shaping the sector.
