Shinas Heritage Festival in Al Batinah North Governorate

Shinas: The activities of the second Shinas Heritage Festival, organized by the camel racing committee in the state and supervised by the Department of Municipal Affairs, will start tomorrow, Wednesday, under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and will last for four days.

The festival will be held at the camel field in the state, and will include a variety of events, including: camel racing, the fattam race, and the Mazayna, in addition to the horse racing race, and the greyhound dog race, in addition to the heritage village of the Bedouin, rural and marine environments.

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Balushi, the general supervisor of the festival and a member of the camel racing committee in the state, confirmed that the committee has completed all preparations for the launch of the festival’s activities in its second edition, as it aims to preserve the popular heritage that the state abounds in.

He added that the activities of the festival will witness the participation of the Omani Women’s Association in the state, as well as an exhibition for rural women under the supervision of the Department of Agricultural and Fisheries in the state, and another exhibition for productive families.

Al Balushi pointed out that the festival will also witness a shooting competition, a marathon for running, and various performances by Omani traditional arts groups, in addition to poetry evenings.
