Shinas Public Park Opens as New Recreational Landmark

Shinas: North Al Batinah Municipality today inaugurated Shinas Public Park, a key recreational destination in the Wilayat of Shinas, as part of efforts to enhance leisure facilities and improve the quality of life for residents.

The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Hajri, Wali of Shinas.

Eng. Hassan bin Ali Al Barmani, Head of the Municipality Department in the Wilayat of Shinas, said that the park represents an important addition to public facilities in the wilayat and will contribute significantly to enhancing quality of life for the community.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he explained that the park was designed to meet the needs of various age groups and to provide a suitable environment for recreation, physical fitness, and social interaction.

He added that Shinas Public Park includes a number of facilities, such as decorative fountains, a children’s play area featuring 15 recreational games, a sprint racing track, a multi-purpose sports playground, and other amenities that encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Eng. Al Barmani pointed out that green spaces within the park cover an area of approximately 14,175 square metres, contributing to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the site and promoting concepts of environmental sustainability.

He affirmed that the project reflects the municipality’s commitment to developing public spaces that serve the community, support social well-being, and provide safe and attractive recreational environments for families and youth.
