Shinas Technology organizes first media meeting in the academic field

Shinas: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas organized today the first media meeting in the academic field, which targeted media departments in universities in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of 12 media institutions as well as social media platforms in the Sultanate.

Dr. Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Shehri, Dean of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Shinas, delivered a speech in which he explained that the aim of organizing this meeting is to focus on the scientific, intellectual and academic aspects of universities in the Sultanate of Oman, and to highlight the role of media in conveying university reality, including scientific achievements, research and studies. An academic that is in line with the vision of Oman 2040, in addition to scientific and academic achievements at various regional and global levels.

The meeting witnessed a number of events, including a discussion session entitled “The Role of Omani Media in Reviewing the Achievements of Universities and Colleges in the Sultanate of Oman,” which included three main axes; The first is about university media and its intellectual and scientific influences, and the second is about the role of media in communicating the educational message in the university community. As for the third axis, it dealt with the use of digital media to convey university activities.

It also included general discussions on complementarity between the media and universities and monitoring events in them, with a visual presentation on the university’s achievements in the local media, as well as honoring the media and media professionals participating in the meeting.
