Shura Council participates in emergency parliamentary meeting on Palestine issue

Tehran: The Shura Council participated in the 5th emergency meeting of the Permanent Committee on Palestine of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC). It also took part in the first meeting of Palestine committee at the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA). The meetings were held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Shura Council was represented in the meetings by Tahir Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council.

During the 5th PUIC emergency meeting, Al Junaibi underscored the stance of the government and people of the Sultanate of Oman in condemning the persistent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, along with calls for an immediate ceasefire and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid.

Al Junaibi also expressed Oman’s rejection of all excuses and justifications cited by Israel for waging war and genocide on the Palestinian people, noting that the Israeli military actions violated the principles of international law and humanitarian values.

Moreover, the two meetings discussed the atrocious consequences of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. They emphasized means by which parliaments could support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights.   – ONA
