Sick leave certificate service now on Oman’s MOH e-Portal

Muscat: The Ministry of Health announced the activation of the sick leave certificate service on the Ministry of Health’s electronic health portal.

The Ministry added that the service issued by the private medical sector institutions in the Sultanate of Oman has been activated and based on this, the Ministry, represented by the General Directorate of Private Health Institutions, has stated that it will not receive any paper sick leaves for approval since the date of issuance of the circular.

Who are the target groups for this service?

Patients who were given sick leave from private health institutions, and these certificates need to be approved by the Ministry of Health to be submitted to other authorities.

How to apply for this service?

Issuing a sick leave certificate from the treating physician after verifying the patient’s personal card data through the electronic health portal.

Approval of the two-day sick leave directly from the electronic health portal

However, if the sick leave is more than two days, the sick leave certification fee must be paid OMR 2, and it can be printed from the private health institution after paying the fees directly via electronic payment. If the patient wishes to pay later, the patient will receive a text message containing a link to complete the fee payment procedures for approval. Leave and upload it directly through the electronic health portal.

Conditions that must be met by the applicant?

The sick leave certificate will be issued after verifying the patient’s ID card date through the e-health portal. It does not require the signature of the doctor or the stamp of the health institution as the validity of the sick leave can be verified via the QR code
