SME Authority announces ‘Incentive for Independent Work’ initiative in digital fields


Muscat: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, announced the “Incentive for Independent Work” initiative in the digital fields. With the aim of supporting social security categories; To find sustainable sources of income, and to promote a culture of independent work.

The initiative also aims to transform skills and talents into sources of income, and to enable talented children from social security families to be a productive and contributing group to society.

The initiative includes many areas, including: software development, digital graphic design, photography and video, visual editing (video montage), audio editing (audio montage), digital marketing, in addition to e-commerce, hairdressing and home beauty, translation, and arts. Fine art and Arabic calligraphy, market research and data analysis.

The authority explained that the support it will provide to those registered in the initiative is to provide an intensive training program in establishing pioneering projects, provide the tools and needs necessary to start and develop independent work, and promote the services provided by the participants.

The training program of the initiative began today – via visual communication technology – in the digital fields, with the participation of 35 members of the social security category, and will last for two weeks, and aims to introduce participants to the accelerating changes in the entrepreneurship system, and to enhance technical and technical practices that contribute to the sustainability of projects, in addition to To raise the level of knowledge and practicality of the participants, and the participants will receive continuous follow-up for a period of six months, with the provision of guidance and advice, in addition to promoting their projects.
