Social Development Committee in Muttrah discusses Implementing Community Initiatives during Ramadan

Muscat: The Social Development Committee held its first meeting for the year 2024, headed by Abdul Hamid bin Abdul Rahman Al Kharousi, Muttrah wally’s deputy.

The meeting began with the approval of the previous report, where several recommendations and proposals aimed at social services’ improvement in Muttrah Wilayat were reviewed.

Additionally, evaluation of the effectiveness of its implementation and presenting new ideas that would improve the system of cohesion and social reciprocal assistance in the wilayat. The implementation of a group of social initiatives was discussed at the meeting.

They include financial support’s offer to low-income and needy families during the Blessed Ramadan and offering a Ramadan basket containing essential food items. As well as, Eid clothing, that aims to reduce the financial problem on needy families. In the context of the offered social services’ improvement.

The strategic plan of the Muttrah Charity Team was presented, which includes digital transformation in all transactions and administrative procedures. This step aims to facilitate contact for beneficiary citizens and save time and effort in government transactions’ implementation.

It should be pointed out that the Social Committee continues to hold periodic meetings to follow up on the implementation of the proposed plans and initiatives and evaluate their results.
