28 Rural Women Benefit from Agricultural Processing Support Project in South Al Batinah

Agriculture Ministry Supports Rural Women with Modern Production Technologies

Al Rustaq:  The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in South Al Batinah Governorate has recently implemented a project to provide working rural women with advanced equipment aimed at increasing their productivity in agro-processing and food conversion industries. The project benefited 28 women from various wilayats of the governorate.

The initiative seeks to economically empower rural women, improve their living standards through the introduction of modern production technologies, and enhance the utilization of surplus agricultural and livestock outputs to create added local value. It also aims to ensure the sustainability of agricultural and livestock resources throughout the year.

The project included the distribution of a comprehensive set of modern equipment, such as spice and coffee grinding machines, natural oil presses, electric honey extractors, vacuum and date packaging machines, egg incubators, cow milking machines, butter sorting devices, and nut butter extraction machines.

These machines are expected to contribute to raising production efficiency, improving the quality of final products, and reducing operational costs. In addition, modern packaging technologies will help extend the shelf life of products, enhancing their competitiveness in local markets.

The project reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources to supporting sustainable development initiatives and strengthening the role of women as active partners in economic development. It also contributes to achieving self-sufficiency and stimulating the rural economy in South Al Batinah Governorate.
