Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Mujaini, Director of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, told Oman News Agency: The number of foreign investment companies in the Governorate of South Al Batinah that were registered during the period from January to December 2021 reached 227, and the number of industrial licenses that were registered in The governorate during the same period received 224 industrial licenses.

He added: Khazaen Economic City in the Wilayat of Barka in the Governorate of South Al Batinah is considered one of the economic cities that attract foreign investments, as it provides many facilities for investors. He also added, the features of the administration’s next action plan are based on achieving the goals of the “Oman 2040” vision, as one of the priorities of the vision is economic diversification and financial sustainability, and the Omani economy is heading to be a diversified and sustainable economy based on technology, knowledge and innovation, with integrated and competitive frameworks achieved, accommodating industrial revolutions, and achieving Financial sustainability and allows the production of competitive goods and services in which the technical and knowledge component increases so that it contributes to the development of the national economy.

He continued: The management plan for South Al Batinah Governorate for 2022  is an extension of the general plan of the Ministry; This year, the ministry seeks to review the legal legislation regulating commercial and industrial work, review the laws, regulations and incentives regulating investment in the Sultanate of Oman in order to develop them, and the operation of the lounge, Invest in Oman.

He indicated that one of the most prominent commercial sectors in South Al Batinah Governorate is wholesale and retail trade, such as major commercial centers (hypermarkets), followed by restaurants and cafes, grinding and packing spices and spices, selling perfumes and cosmetics, textiles trading and selling ready-made clothes. and industrial workshops.

Regarding the work of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion during 2021, he explained: Among the work of promoting the Omani product is marketing through large shopping centers, as a continuation of the “Made in Oman” campaign launched by the Ministry in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in coordination with the private sector and with the participation of a number of commercial centers. It also checked the validity of pumps (42) gas stations in the governorate, calibrated commercial scales used for (7) scales for goldsmithing and selling shops and (69) commercial scales for major commercial centers in the governorate, and inspection visits to (30) existing factories in the governorate in order to complete the licensing procedures Industrial, and giving the powers to use the Invest Easy system to (3) Sanad Service Centers in the governorate.

He added that the administration implemented awareness programs to spread awareness of the importance of standards in society, and specialists conducted lectures in this regard in Omani women’s associations in the governorate, as well as through participation in exhibitions and seminars held by our partners in the province, and the administration also set up awareness programs to spread awareness of the importance of intellectual property and trademarks.
