The exhibition aims to emphasize the importance of biomedical sciences, and spread community awareness of the role of biomedical scientists in diagnosing diseases in clinical laboratories. The exhibition includes four basic pillars. The first is the academic programs in this field by public and private universities and colleges to promote their programmes.

As for the second, it expresses the majors of biomedical laboratory sciences, namely hematology, histopathology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology. Staff from these specializations participate in this section to educate the audience.

As for the third section, it includes the participating societies, which are the Omani Cancer Society, the Omani Society for Hereditary Blood Diseases, the Omani Association for Organ Transplantation, the Omani Association for Fat and Atherosclerosis, and the blood donation team and its role in educating the audience.

As for the fourth section, it is an interactive corner for students, and it contains many different competitions and surprises for the audience.

It is worth noting that the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences was established in 1996 at the World Congress in Oslo, Norway, and this day is celebrated on the fifteenth of April every year, in honor of the role that biomedical laboratory specialists play in diagnostic and preventive health care systems. – ONA
