Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), represented by the Medical Research Centre, and leading international pharmaceutical company Novartis, today signed an agreement of cooperation on combating cardiovascular diseases.
Cardiovascular diseases are considered among the top health challenges on the global scale.
The agreement aims to limit the spread of cardiovascular diseases and their associated risk factors in the Sultanate of Oman. Focus will be given on treating high blood cholesterol cases.
The two sides target utilizing advanced technologies and sharing best practices to develop innovative solutions related to improving the process of handling cardiovascular diseases.
The agreement was inked by Ghazi Ali Al Rawas, Dean of Research and Dr. Mohammed Ezz Eldin, Regional Director of Novartis for the Gulf. – ONA
