Stars of Science: Oman’s Sumaya qualifies for semi-finals stage

Doha: The Omani innovator Sumaya bint Saeed Al Siyabiya qualified to the design and product testing stage for the semi-finals in the Stars of Science program organized by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, with her scientific innovation in the environmental field “Bio-analysis of microplastics in a new way of biological and nanotechnology.”

The Omani innovator told the Oman News Agency: “The engineering stage was one of the most difficult stages, and there was great competition between the contestants. She worked in four scientific laboratories to conduct very accurate experiments, and used more than 40 samples.”

She added, “I worked hard to prepare the experiments and examine them with high accuracy in more than one device for examining carbon dioxide emission, examining changes in functional groups and examining weight change, and the results were satisfactory.”

She confirmed that her qualification came after careful work and great effort to reach accurate scientific results, during which she was able to crystallize the importance of this scientific innovation before the jury and its role in serving all humanity. She expressed her happiness at reaching this advanced stage, and with the continuous support and encouragement she received.

The Omani innovator separates one stage to reach the final stage, where the design and product testing stage remains.
