Muscat: Asyad Group and Oman Sail sealed a partnership to implement the “Asyad Community Sailing Programme” which will allow male and female students from grades 2-10 from 150 public schools across the governorates of Muscat, North Al Batinah and South Al Sharqiyah to experience the joy of being on the water and learn the basics of sailing at Oman Sail’s Sailing Schools.
Through this initiative, participants will benefit from the valuable life skills and personal growth opportunities that sailing offers, including building confidence, developing active citizenship, and engaging in physical activity.
By sharing expertise and resources, Asyad Group and Oman Sail strive to introduce a new generation of sailors to the sport and contribute to the overall development and well-being of the youth in Oman.
Dr. Ibrahim Bakheet Al Nadhiri, CEO of Asyad Shipping and Drydock, said, “Asyad Community Sailing Programme will create a platform for young people to develop and embrace active living. This engagement is part of our strategy to support communities in Oman, focusing particularly on empowering the youth through innovation, exploration, and resilience building. We aim, by leveraging the expertise of Oman Sail, to enable children from all backgrounds to reach their potential, while shaping future athletes and sailing enthusiasts.”
On his turn, Dr. Khamis Al Jabri, CEO of Oman Sail, said, “We are delighted to be working with Asyad Group to deliver a life-changing programme that will offer long-term benefits for young people of all ages across the nation. This is a unique opportunity to share the expertise of both Oman Sail and Asyad Group to teach valuable life skills through sailing as well as introduce a new generation of sailors to the sport and share our maritime heritage with the youth of Oman.”
