

Muscat: The preliminary qualifiers for the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition in its 31st edition this year, organized annually by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court, began today at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
Dr. Saeed bin Humaid Al Dhawayani, Vice Chairman of the preliminary and final qualifiers committees of the 31st Sultan Qaboos Competition, said that these qualifiers, in which more than 400 male and female contestants will compete, will continue until next Thursday.
He pointed out that the preliminary qualifiers committee will select eight winners from each of the seven levels across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, as this competition aims to encourage memorization of the Qur’an, follow its approach and the guidance of its teachings, and raise a Qur’anic generation that bears the Book of God, calls for goodness, and is active.
In reforming society, and creating proficient reciters of the Qur’an who are proficient in performing it, in addition to enhancing the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Qur’anic competitions, and striving to monitor advanced levels with them.
