Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition begins in Nizwa

Nizwa: The preliminary qualifying committee for the 32nd Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition in Nizwa began its work today, with the participation of 157 contestants at various levels of the competition.

The competition will continue for four days. The competition includes several levels: Level 1: Memorizing the entire Holy Quran; Level 2: Memorizing 24 consecutive parts; Level 3: Memorizing 18 consecutive parts; Level 4: Memorizing 12 consecutive parts for those aged 25 and under; Level 5: Memorizing 6 consecutive parts for those aged 14 and under; Level 6: Memorizing 4 consecutive parts for those aged 10 and under; and Level 7: Memorizing two consecutive parts for those aged 7 and under.

Dr. Saeed bin Hamid Al-Dhuwayani, Vice Chairman of the Qualifying Committee for the 32nd edition of the competition, said: The competition aims to encourage memorization of the Holy Quran, adherence to its teachings, and the formation of a Quranic generation that carries the Book of Allah and masters its recitation.

He added that the competition seeks to enhance the Sultanate of Oman’s presence in international Quran competitions, in addition to providing educational, media and religious institutions with skilled and proficient reciters to meet the requirements of these institutions.
