Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition continues in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate

Nizwa: The preliminary qualifiers for the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition in its 31st session, organized by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science, are continuing in the Nizwa Wilayat of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Dr. Saeed bin Hamad Al-Duwayani, Vice Chairman of the Preliminary and Final Qualifications Committee of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition in its 31st session, said that these qualifiers began in the middle of last August and will continue until the end of next October, with 1,638 participants applying for this competition from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

He added that the competition is distributed among 25 centers in the various states of the Sultanate of Oman, including three centers in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate: Nizwa, Bahla and Samail, with the participation of 172 male and female contestants.

The competition, which is organized by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science in the Diwan of the Royal Court in the 31st session, aims to encourage memorization and embodiment of the Qur’an, to follow its method and to follow the guidance of its teachings. To have masters in performing the Qur’an, according to what scholars and memorizers have termed it, in addition to enhancing the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Qur’anic competitions, and striving to monitor advanced levels.

In its current version, the competition includes 7 levels: the first level (memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an), the second level (memorizing twenty-four consecutive parts), the third level (memorizing eighteen consecutive parts), and the fourth level (memorizing twelve consecutive parts). The contestant is born in 1998 and above, and the fifth level (memorizing six consecutive parts) requires that the contestant be born in 2009 and above. As for the sixth level (memorizing four consecutive parts), the contestant is required to be born in 2013 or higher, and the seventh level (memorizing two consecutive parts) requires that the contestant be born in 2016  or higher.
