Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University launched the virtual platform “Meelad” for successful new students with a general education diploma.

The electronic link (https://squ.edu.om/admissions-ar/Meelad) has been allocated for new students to complete their admission procedures through the virtual platform “Meelad”, which will enable students to enter all data electronically, starting from tomorrow, “Thursday”. Until the end of Wednesday, August 23.

Meelad is a virtual platform developed by the Information Systems Center at Sultan Qaboos University and launched in 2015. It seeks to transform manual post-acceptance procedures into electronic procedures that are presented as an integrated electronic package.

The “Meelad” platform aims to enable students to create their records and spare students the trouble and hardship of travel, especially students from geographically distant regions and governorates, in addition to shortening more than 85% of the transaction completion time and saving an estimated 90% of material and labor costs (human resources). It also works to improve the quality and accuracy of data through electronic integration between the university and the Royal Oman Police, as well as between the university, the Unified Admission Center and the Ministry of Education.

The Meelad station reflects the university’s vision of providing a comprehensive experience that helps facilitate the transition of students from the general diploma stage to the university stage, through an advanced and innovative digital interface that contributes to facilitating and completing admission procedures in a comprehensive and smooth manner, and providing academic and social services.
