Sultan Qaboos University receives 39th batch of undergraduate students

Muscat: The orientation programme for the 39th batch of undergraduate students for the academic year 2024/2025 will begin tomorrow morning, Sunday, at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).

The programme will start with a reception ceremony for new students at the Grand Hall of the University Cultural Centre, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, Vice-Chancellor of SQU.

The number of Omani students accepted for the 39th batch of undergraduate studies through the Unified Admission Center for the academic year 2024/2025 reached 3039 male and female students, distributed across various colleges, as the number of undergraduate studies programs at Sultan Qaboos University reaches 62 study programs.

The university received new students in the Al Raha Housing Complex in the Knowledge Oasis for male students, the university student housing complexes inside the university campus for female students, and students with disabilities in Residential Complex No. 7. The orientation program will continue until September 10, and the new students’ reception program will include a welcoming visual presentation for the new batch and a visual presentation of the university’s colleges.

The services provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the various centers and units, including academic, social, psychological, and health units, will also be introduced. In addition, the role of the Preparatory Studies Center in the mechanism of the preparatory program examination procedures will be introduced.

The preparatory program exams will begin the day after tomorrow, Monday, and will continue until September 9, 2024. The colleges will meet with their students on Tuesday, September 10, where students will learn about the programs and specializations offered by their colleges and the services they provide to students.

It is worth noting that studies at Sultan Qaboos University for the academic year 2024/2025 will begin on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
